• A rare tea variety of eastern Assam's Dikom Tea Estate named "Golden Butterfly Tea" created a record of being sold at Rs.75000 per Kg at the Guwahati Tea Auction Centre, Assam.
• This golden butterfly tea surpassed previous record of sale of "Maijan Golden Tips" tea just by Rs.4499. The Maijan Golden Tips was sold at Rs.70501 per Kg.
• The Dikom Tea Estate is situated near Eastern Assam's Dibrugarh town.

• On August 17, 2019, The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the state's first ever Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel station at Chowkidingee, Dibrugarh, Assam. It was installed by Assam Gas Company Ltd (AGCL).

• The researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, Assam invented two distinct and special membranes that can separate oil and water, even under harsh conditions. This development is expected to be used in applications of oil spill management.
